QUESTIONS AND QUERIES

Please feel free to approach myself or any of the Swindon Rockets Committee if there is any thing you wish to discuss.  Some sessions can be quite busy but if we don’t have the answer or time there and then at the session we will be happy to find out answers to your questions or queries and get back to you.  Swindon Rockets are a team and that involves not only the members but parents to, we are always happy to listen.  Committee Members John Lambert Chairman, Rachel Lambert Secretary, Kevin Dawson Vice Chairman, Jac Dawson Child Welfare Officer and Fundraising Officer, Tony Collins Coach Co-ordinator, Dale Welland Match/Referee Co-ordinator.

TEAM KIT

An article in the Swindon Advertiser asking for a sponsor for a new team kit proved very successful.  We have had a very kind offer from Steve and Dawn Graham from Primary to be the sponsor for our kit.  The team kit will include our new logo designed by Jac Dawson’s daughter.  We would like to thank her for the time and effort it took in designing a new logo.

REGIONAL/NATIONAL LEAGUE

Swindon Rockets took part in a very successful event on the 25th of January in Hatfield.  Thanks to all those who travelled up to Hatfield.

It is hoped that we will get a place in the National League in Kettering this year.  This involves 5 weekends of playing roughly once a month.  Please be aware this does involve travelling costs and even an overnight stay if you don’t want to travel up to Kettering both days.

CLUB CHAIRS

We now have three club chairs which have been purchased with the money we received from Sports Match, Bank of New York and the money donated by the couple who got married and a grant for a £1000 from the Sports Foundation.

We have also been awarded £5000 from Swindon and Wiltshire Community Foundation and GWR Kids have given us enough money for a chair as well, that will make five club chairs.

FUNDRASING

On the 16th May 2009 Asda Walmart Orbital Way Swindon has agreed to let Swindon Rockets to bag pack in its store.  We are hoping that you would all come along and fill a one hour slot during the day, every little helps put money in the bank to keep the club running.
