Swindon Rockets are a Powerchair Football Club.

 

We have members both in powerchairs and manual wheelchairs and we welcome players with a range of disabilities and of all ages both children and adults.

 

  		  

We are pleased to report that this year we have been nominated as the sponsored charity of the year by the Payment Processing, Member Account Administration Department at the Nationwide Building Society.

To help support us a quiz night was held in the Supporters Club Lounge at the County Ground on 5th November.....  [More....]
With the support from the Nationwide we have now taken delivery of a new trailer designed to take up to 10 wheelchairs. The chairs are used by club members during training and at National League matches in Kettering, being able to transport them easily is a bonus.
Thanks to funding from Aiming High for Disabled Children, supported through Swindon Borough council, we will shortly be taking delivery of a hoist and slings. This will be used to transfer players from their own wheelchairs to club football powerchairs and will avoid any manual lifting.
In September 2009, 12 Months ahead of schedule we started our campaign in the national league.  Held over six weekends during the football season clubs from all over the country converge on the Arena Sports Centre in Kettering to play in three leagues....[More...]
